Matterhorn Bar (1-2 hrs)

Matterhorn is located halfway the pedestrian zone on Cuba Street at number 106. The opening hours are Monday to Sunday from 3pm till late. On Friday and Saturday evenings they have live DJ’s spinning the music. For more information about their events, visit their website.
Fishermans Table (1-2 hrs)

Fishermans Table is located at 245 Oriental Parade, just a few minutes walk from Te Papa. The place is open 7 days a week from 11:30 for all day dining. Last orders at 9 pm.
Cuba Street (1-2 hrs)

It is one of the more bohemian areas of Wellington, and is the home to an eclectic collection of cafes, op-shops, boutique, small fashion stores, art galleries, music shops and a lot of Asian restaurants.
Balancing chic and kitsch, boutique and bohemia, Cuba Street is widely considered to be the coolest street in New Zealand. There’s something to do in this street from early morning to late evening.
Fidel's Cafe (1-2 hrs)

It is a nice bar and they serve great food and delicious cakes. They have a great terrace to enjoy your drinks outside.
Fidel’s is open from Monday to Friday from 7:30 am till late and on Saturday and Sunday from 9 am till late.
Maranui, Layall Bay (1-2 hrs)

When your tummy's beginning to rumble and you are low on caffeine, Maranui Café is a real lifesaver. The opening hours are from 7 am to 5 pm seven days a week. If you want to make a reservation call them at: 04 387 4539
Courtenay Place (1 eve)

There are many bars and not only in the main street, also in many side streets. So for sure you will find your place here to hang out during the night.
Hippopotamus Bar (1-2 hrs)

The bar is located opposite Te Papa Museum and the vibrant Wellington waterfront, inside Museum Hotel. It’s a great place to start your night out in Wellington.
The Film Archive Café (1-4 hrs)

There is a gallery, cinema and media library boasting thousands of kiwi classics, searchable online catalogue and personal viewing areas. Very nice but… they have a very comfy café where you can get delicious scones, supreme coffee, wifi, meeting tables and hours of footage to watch if you get stood up. And you can watch everything for free.
It is located at the corner of Ghuznee and Taranaki Streets. Cafe and Gallery are open from Monday to Tuesday from 9am to 5pm;, on Wednesday to Friday from 9am to 7pm and on Saturday from 4pm to 7pm. Closed on Public Holidays.
